Who designs my trip?
All trips are personally curated by Michael Hackett, founder of Visible Origins Travel. With over a decade of experience living in The Netherlands and working in international education, Michael brings deep cultural insight and a passion for history to each custom itinerary.
How much do your services cost?
Pricing varies based on trip length, number of travelers, destinations, and level of customization. We offer transparent planning fees and work within your budget to deliver the best value. Contact us for a free consultation and estimate.
Do you offer support during my trip?
Yes! We provide ongoing support while you’re traveling, including on-the-ground tips, updates, and emergency assistance if needed. You’ll never feel like you’re navigating a new destination alone.
Can you work with my existing plans or bookings?
Absolutely! If you’ve already booked your flights or accommodations, we can help you build the rest of your itinerary around them—including local experiences, transportation, and day-by-day plans.
How far in advance should I plan my trip?
Ideally, we recommend starting the planning process at least 3–6 months in advance, especially for travel during peak seasons. That said, we’re happy to assist with last-minute trips when possible!
Do you work with families or solo travelers?
Yes to both! Whether you’re a solo explorer, couple, group of friends, or a family with kids (or grandparents!), we craft your experience to suit the dynamic and rhythm of your group.
What if I need to cancel or change my trip?
Our cancellation and change policies depend on the services booked. We always aim to work with flexible providers and will clearly communicate all terms and options during the planning process. Travel insurance is strongly recommended.
Can you help with accessibility or mobility needs?
Yes. We take your mobility, medical, and accessibility needs seriously and will design an itinerary that’s both inspiring and practical. We work with vetted partners who understand how to accommodate different physical needs and comfort levels.

Are travel agents a thing of the past?
Not at all! It is true, with the growth of the Internet travel agencies have become harder to find. I remember a large agency where I lived many years ago called Liberty Travel. I used them for various services, but that was before e-tickets….or e-anything. Now, there is so much information out there, but the information isn’t curated. So it can be very time consuming trying to determine what is value for money. As your advisor, I do all the work for you.
